Parish Background

St John the Theologian Mission was "planted" in 1983 by Fr Peter Tutko.  Since 1995 it has primarily existed as the Orthodox Christian Fellowship at the University of Florida, which has been meeting almost continuously since September 1995 as an evangelical outreach to the students of the University of Florida.  Dcn. James Nicholas (among others) currently supports the campus ministry, which offers UF students several ways to connect: UF, Facebook, and Google groups.

Family Ministry

In 2009 we launched a family ministry, which currently meets for lay-led Vespers and Bible study on Tuesdays at 6:30pm, with occasional visits by Archpriest Ted Pisarchuk.  Please visit our Calendar page for actual dates.  The lay-led Bible study will cover a variety of stimulating Orthodox topics, and Fr Ted affectionately calls his Bible study TNT! (Tuesday Night Teaching).  Both studies are intended to help seekers, catechumen, and Orthodox faithful alike understand the basis of our Orthodox faith.  Please come and see!
